Come Learn with Syracuse Grows! [Workshops in May]
As the flowers bloom and gardeners gear up for the growing season, Syracuse Grows is offering a series of technical and leadership workshops for gardeners.
Coming up this Sunday, May 2nd, is the "Building the 'Community' in Community Gardening" workshop with community gardening experts from Work with Nature. Topics covered will include garden planning, communication and outreach, group decision making, leadership, networking, fundraising and more. There is a nominal fee for registration. Our Urban Gardening Workshop Series continues as well. All workshops are free and open to the public (suggested $2 donation per workshop)

Gardener's Supply Company Garden Crusader Awards
Nominations for a Garden Crusader Award are now being accepted until June 1st. The awards are meant to "honor individuals who are improving the world through gardening."
There are five winners for each category: Education, Feeding the Hungry, Urban Renewal and Restoration. The grand prize winner receives $2,500 in cash + $2,500 gift certificate from Gardener's Supply. First placers receive a $1,000 gift certificate; second placers receive a $750 gift certificate; third placers receive a $500 gift certificate; honorable mentions receive a $200 gift certificate. All prizes are awarded to the winner's organization in his/her name.

Loren Barrigar to Perform a Solo Benefit Concert for the Isabella St. Tapestry Garden

Loren Barrigar will perform a solo concert co-hosted by Women Transcending Boundaries (WTB), Syracuse Grows and the Northside Collaboratory. The concert will be held in Hendrick’s Chapel on the Syracuse University campus on Saturday, April 10th at 7:00pm.
